Target: Defence was the third event in the SolutionCity's Year of Defence, organised in cooperation with the Defence Unit and the ICT Council for SA.
First speaker, Roxley McLennan, Chief Executive of the SA government's Defence Unit, provided an insight of what steps the Defence Industry Advisory Board and the Defence Unit take to fulfil the mission outlined the State Strategic Plan, i.e. growing the Defence industry and Defence presence. Neil Bryans from Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) was our second speaker. Neil is the DSTO's Deputy Chief Defence Scientist (Information and Weapon Systems) and in that capacity he is responsible for a significant ICT-based research program supporting Defence requirements.
