ATUG/Alcatel Breakfast

"The Future of Broadband – What’s Next?"

The attached file is your invitation to the ATUG/Alcatel breakfast, which will be held on Thursday 19 May 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Adelaide. AlcatelBreakfastAdelaide2005.pdf

Understanding the future of telecommunications and the opportunities that the future holds for Alcatel customers is a key concern of Alcatel, who is the leading telecommunications solutions and infrastructure provider in Australia and New Zealand.

We’ve had a great broadband year in 2004. The longer term future is fibre and wireless, but how will we get there and why should we care? What are the next steps towards this future? SBC in the US is leading the charge in the western world towards fibre closer to the home. What can we learn from them and other markets?

Alcatel sees the future as a user-centric broadband world but what does this really mean to users of telecommunications services?

Geof Heydon, Director of Innovation, is one of the creators of Alcatel’s future vision and will share the company’s views about the future services and what Alcatel is doing to influence the outcomes.
