SolutionCity held its first public event on May 13, and it was a great success. 
Called the SolutionCity Innovators Showcase, it was the State’s contribution to the national Innovation Festival, and was held in the Festival Centre. It attracted some 36 exhibits from some of South Australia’s most innovative ICT enterprises, and was broad ranging in its content.
The essential aims of the Showcase were to build SolutionCity’s public and industry profile; increase SolutionCity membership; help our members promote themselves; and meet a commitment to the Government to undertake such an event.
Early indications suggest we succeeded in all areas.
Although we are still obtaining formal responses from exhibitors to get a full appreciation of the success of the event, anecdotally we received considerable positive feed back from both exhibitors and the public.
SolutionCity also obtained five new members with several other enterprises considering membership.
Media publicity was very good, with excellent stories in The Advertiser and the Sunday Mail, and radio coverage on 5DN and Radio Adelaide.
A special Innovators Showcase presentation titled Investment Capital was well patronized, as were most of the other presentations with an average of over 25 people at each.
