We’re one year old!
On the 1st of March 2004 under a backdrop of glistening stars at Adelaide Festival’s Universal Playground SolutionCity celebrated its first anniversary. Over 120 SolutionCity members and their partners joined the celebrations in a night of excitement and enthusiasm.
The Hon Paul Holloway MLC was an eager stand-in for The Premier Mike Rann and Minister Lomax-Smith who were detained by Cabinet commitments. Paul reminded the gathering of SolutionCity’s launch in February 2003 and highlighted some of our many achievements and plans for the future, in particular our delegation going to the WCIT in Athens in May 2004.
Brett Sheehy the Artistic Director for the Adelaide Festival in 2006 excited the evening with his vision for Technology Week which will highlight the link between the Arts and Technology. Brett committed himself to promoting the 2006 Festival and SolutionCity as he travels around the world over the next two years.
Denis Wall, the Executive Director of the IT Council for South Australia reflected on discussions during the evening noting that “SolutionCity’s first year was hard as we worked to establish the brand, but now that we have a base it’s time to grow and promote Adelaide as SolutionCity on the world stage”.
