The Complaints and Reports of Environmental Significance (CARES) management system won a Gold Award in the Government Technology Productivity Awards. Developed by Intec for the EPA and local government, CARES provides the EPA and councils with a central database accessible via an internet e-Business interface, to record incident related information and track, manage and report on all environmental incidents.
Benefits gained from this system include access to coordinated centralised information, time saving due to reallocating non-EPA incidents to the appropriate council and providing the ability to track mobile offenders (EPA licensed vehicles). CARES was the first South Australian Government system to provide live updates via the web.
The Electronic Medical Assessment (ELMA) system utilises the internet and the intranet to deliver functionality to support medical assessments. Designed, developed and supported by Intec for Health Services Australia (HSA), the system supports making appointments, recording medical assessments, managing the resources, managing the progress of each case, reporting electronically to clients and billing the client for the services rendered. The medical examination process is guided electronically and the relevant information collected electronically.
The key benefit provided by ELMA is strategic in that it provides a competitive advantage to HSA in the manner in which HSA provide customer service. It supports the time reduction of conducting assessments, which reduces the cost for the client as well as providing more timely and accessible information to clients.
Other administrative benefits include reduced administrative workload in handling paper forms, reduced courier costs, more legible reports and reduced likelihood of files being misplaced.
SA Tenders & Contracts is a web-enabled application that supports and automates the tender process. The primary purpose of SA Tenders & Contracts is to publish tenders and provide the means for suppliers to access tender information and lodge electronic responses to tenders. SA Tenders & Contracts is more than a website - it provides business process automation and workflow management that simplifies the tender process from end to end. Although developed originally for the Government of South Australia, SA Tenders & Contracts has been adopted by all local councils in South Australia, the three South Australian Universities, and is being actively promoted to other government and near-government organisations.
The SA Tenders & Contracts site is a sophisticated, web-based document exchange mechanism that facilitates the efficient, secure and virus free transfer of tender documents and submissions. Other benefits include; fully featured search capabilities, an automated notification service and detailed contextual help for users.
